Tierney S. has a wealth of experience in product design, spanning from 2013 to the present. In 2013, they began their career as an Intern at Mente Sowell Architects, where they created shop drawings for residential and commercial projects. Tierney then moved to nTopology inc. as an Intern in 2014, where they helped fabricate large scale installations and created prototypes for 3D print textiles and jewelry. In 2015, they interned at David Weeks Studio, where they developed a 3D printing system and coordinated rapid prototyping for object designs. In 2016, they worked as a Design Engineer at Island International Exterior Fabricators, creating shop drawings and fabrication drawings for the NY Wheel Project. From 2017 to 2020, Tierney worked as a Designer at Urban Quotient, where they helped usher in new company branding, created a new company website, and trained new employees. In 2020, Tierney began working as a Freelance Product Designer, leading and delivering experiences for onboarding and introducing users how to set up their account to easily rent a car, and for easy bill pay. Tierney also worked with a volunteer team to help people get their record cleared. Later in 2020, Tierney joined Helpboard as a UX Designer, where they spearheaded foundational research and synthesis to learn more about the target market and the existing landscape of the gig economy. In 2021, Tierney joined Spectrum Enterprise as a Product Designer III, where they helped maintain, build and scale the Mountaineer design system, and eventually headed all related operations. Tierney is currently working as a Senior Product Designer at SamCart, delivering features for video upload and management, template builder, and reporting/analytics, serving as the lead designer for the enterprise (VIP) team, and ushering in standards for user research and documentation.
Tierney S. has a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from Pratt Institute and completed a User Experience Design Immersive program at General Assembly. In November 2020, Tierney S. obtained an Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner certification from IBM.
