Sophia Turner is an experienced healthcare professional with a strong focus on emergency nursing and humanitarian aid. Currently serving as the Regional Development Lead for Samaritans since 2008 and as an EMT Emergency Nurse with UK-Med since 2017, Sophia has contributed significantly to various emergency responses, including work in Ukraine and Lebanon, focusing on infection prevention and control, capacity building, and clinical care delivery. Additional roles include Deputy Director of Community Engagement and Outreach for Manchester & Salford Samaritans, Senior Emergency and Trauma Nurse for the NHS, and Emergency Nurse Consultant for IOM - UN Migration. Sophia holds multiple advanced degrees, with an MSc in International Disaster Management from The University of Manchester, and has been involved in capacity building initiatives for health workers in various international settings, including a notable role with the World Health Organization.
