JoEllen Kames is an experienced design leader specializing in user experience and interaction design. Currently serving as the Director of UX for both AI Cloud and Analytics Cloud at Salesforce since December 2021, JoEllen focuses on integrating generative AI into data analytics to enhance user understanding and engagement. As an Adjunct Professor at IIT Institute of Design and Northwestern University, JoEllen educates students on advanced interaction design and customer-driven opportunities. Previous roles include Head of Design at Narrative Science, where JoEllen redefined data analytics with natural language generation, and Senior Director at United Healthcare, emphasizing ethnographic research in population health. JoEllen's extensive background also includes leadership positions at Northern Trust Corporation, Motorola Mobility, HSBC, and Diamond Cluster, utilizing a strong foundation in human-centered design and research. JoEllen holds multiple degrees, including an MDes in Design Strategy from the Institute of Design, a certificate in Data Analytics from The University of Texas at Austin, and a BFA in Communication Design.
