Mike Walters is an experienced professional in the fields of civil engineering and sustainable design. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since January 2022, Mike focuses on teaching, research, and advising graduate students while actively participating in campus committees. As a Principal at Salas O'Brien since November 2019, Mike has played a key role in providing consulting services, particularly in energy, cost, and carbon management. Previous positions include Director of Business Development and Principal at MEP Associates, LLC, and Principal at Fovea, LLC, where Mike aimed to enhance decision-making through proprietary modeling software. Mike's extensive background also includes leadership roles at Confluenc and AEI/Affiliated Engineers, Inc., where sustainable design consulting and climate action planning methodologies were developed. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, completed in 2000.
