Philip Cheang has a wealth of work experience. In 2017, they co-founded and became the CEO of Sakay.ph, the only app providing extensive public transit directions in Metro Manila that intelligently blend formal and informal modes. In 2010, they co-founded By Implication, an award-winning, independent software and game development studio that has created industry-leading apps for clients both local and abroad. Philip wears multiple hats, primarily focusing on user experience, front-end development, and product management. In 2011, they became the Chief Technology Officer of Sari Software Solutions, creating technology that empowers sari-sari store owners and micro-entrepreneurs while generating market research data. Philip also created the website and other digital and physical collaterals. Additionally, they helped craft the branding, identity system, and visual messaging standards for Sari, and worked on the early foundation of the Sari platform's user interface. In 2011, they also began teaching courses under the Fine Arts Program at Ateneo de Manila University, including Web Design and Development, and Information Architecture. Philip mentors and advises students, panels for thesis proposals and defense, and helps in syllabus and program development.
Philip Cheang attended Xavier School from 2002 to 2006, where they earned their high school diploma. Philip then attended Ateneo de Manila University from 2006 to 2010, where they earned their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Information Design.
