Joseph Mertens is an experienced athletic communication specialist currently employed at Saint Ignatius High School since January 2021, where responsibilities include managing relationships with the Athletic Department staff and coaches to maintain brand consistency and producing live social media updates for events. Prior to this role, Mertens served as a production assistant at FOX Sports and worked as a sports broadcaster for Q92/WDJQ, focusing on high school football games. Mertens has held various positions in sports media, including sports director for 91.1 WRMU, color commentator for Cleveland State University women’s basketball on ESPN platforms, and public address announcer for Mount Union Athletics. Mertens completed an internship at The National Sports Forum and holds a degree in Integrated Media and Sports Business from the University of Mount Union.
