Yan Fang's work experience includes roles as a Finance Director at Saint-Gobain Sekurit and Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, where they were responsible for financial planning and analysis. They also worked as a Finance Controller at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Shanghai, overseeing finance reporting and controlling for two sites in China. Prior to that, Yan Fang was an Audit Manager at Saint-Gobain, conducting internal control evaluations and providing trainings. They started their career as a Senior Consultant at PwC, specializing in financial and operational risk management. Yan Fang also completed internships at Lazard Freres & Co. and Saint-Gobain in the areas of risk control and compliance and investor relations.

Yan Fang completed a Bachelor's degree in French and Economics from Peking University from 1999 to 2003. Following that, from 2003 to 2006, Yan Fang pursued a Master's degree in Finance from HEC Paris.
