Ki Young Paek serves as Principal Scientist at Sail Biomedicines since November 2023, focusing on the development of proprietary circularization elements for efficient in vitro circular RNA generation. Responsibilities include designing studies to enhance IVT yield and diminish immune responses, screening essential RNA elements for circular RNA expression and stability, and leading a multidisciplinary team while managing Ph.D. level scientists and research associates. Previously, Ki Young Paek held various positions at Laronde from February 2018 to October 2023, and completed postdoctoral fellowships at UMass Medical School and Pohang University of Science and Technology, where research involved molecular biology and protein behavior. Ki Young Paek holds a Ph.D. in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Pohang University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Yonsei University. An accomplished inventor, Ki Young Paek is an author of over five patents related to circular RNA production and applications.
