Julie Ide has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Starting in 1985, they worked at Intelsat as a Lead Engineer and Senior Engineer, where they managed a large team developing ground network software. From 1994 to 1995, they founded and served as President of Ide Software Inc., where they developed and tested embedded software. At PRC, from 1995 to 1997, they were a Technical Lead and Principal Engineer, leading the development of distributed system support software. Julie then served as the Virginia State Volunteer Coordinator for Dean for America in 2003 and later became the Campaign Volunteer Coordinator for James Socas for Congress in 2004. Julie also had various roles at the DNC in 2005 and 2006, soliciting funds and providing technical expertise for the Democratic Party. From 2007 to 2007, they were the Deputy Campaign Manager, Finance Director, and Volunteer Coordinator for John Foust for Supervisor. Following that, they worked for Fairfax County Government from 2008 to 2016 as a Legislative Aide to Fairfax County Supervisor John Foust, responding to constituent concerns and managing office communications. In their most recent role, starting in 2016, Julie worked at Sagetech Corporation as a Certification Engineer and Engineering Administration Manager, ensuring processes were documented to meet FAA and DoD certification requirements. In 2019, they transitioned to Sagetech Avionics, Inc. as a Systems Certification Engineer, where they continued to apply design assurance standards and coordinate with the team to meet certification requirements.
Julie Ide obtained their Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Computer Science from The University of Kansas from 1979 to 1984.
