Shawn Thompson has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and medical industry. Shawn started their career as a Medical Nutritional Representative at Ross/Abbott Nutrition in 1985. Shawn then joined GSK in 1988, where they held the position of Senior Executive Clinical Specialist- NeuroHealth. In this role, they worked closely with Neurologists and Psychiatrists, presenting products and data, and educating staff and physicians on products and availability. Shawn remained with GSK until 2010.

Following that, Shawn worked at Advanced Surgical from 2010 to 2015 as a Neurosurgery Specialist. Here they focused on sales and worked closely with Neurosurgeons, advising on product utilization, and educating surgery staff and physicians on approved indications and proper application of products.

From 2015 to 2021, Shawn served as a Neuroscience Account Manager at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies (U.S.). Shawn targeted account-based selling, working with Psychiatrists and Mental Health Providers to educate them about injectable antipsychotic products and train them on proper technique.

Currently, Shawn is employed at Sage Therapeutics as a Senior Therapeutic Business Specialist. Since May 2021, they have successfully re-launched a cutting-edge Biopharmaceutical Infusion for Postpartum depression. As one of 6 specialists in the nation, they work with healthcare providers to educate and facilitate treatment for appropriate patients, alleviating the burden of Postpartum depression.
