Jennifer Begin has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jennifer is currently serving as the Head of People and Culture at the Safety Codes Council since December 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Human Resources Consultant at the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from April 2021 to December 2023.
Jennifer also has experience as a People and Culture Manager at Kepler Academy Early Learning & Child Care from May 2019 to April 2021, and as a Human Resources Generalist at Scandinavian Building Services from September 2018 to May 2019.
Before transitioning into the HR field, Jennifer worked as an Administrator at the Career Development Association of Alberta from June 2017 to February 2019. Jennifer also gained experience in retail management, serving as a Flagship Store Manager at Roots from April 2013 to June 2014, and as an Assistant Store Manager from May 2012 to April 2013.
Jennifer's earlier work experience includes being a Teaching Assistant at Saint Mary's University from September 2010 to May 2012, and a Program Facilitator at The Boys and Girls Club of Canada from September 2011 to April 2012. Overall, Jennifer has demonstrated their expertise in people and culture management, human resources, administration, and retail management throughout their career.
Jennifer Begin holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature from Saint Mary's University, which they completed from 2002 to 2012. Jennifer then pursued Human Resources Management at MacEwan University from 2015 to 2018, earning a degree in Human Resources Management and Services. In 2020 and 2021, Jennifer obtained an Advanced Certificate in Psychological Health and Safety from the University of Fredericton. In terms of certifications, they are a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) accredited by SHRM, has the designation of CPHR from CPHR Alberta, and is a Tech Recruitment Certified Professional recognized by DevSkiller.
