Richard Brown

Director of Sales at Safekeeping

Richard Brown has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Richard started their career in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician, where they demonstrated effective decision-making skills and handled classified documents. After leaving the Navy, Richard transitioned to the civilian sector and joined EDMC as an Inside Sales Manager. Richard excelled in this role, conducting cold calls and selling the benefits of completing a college degree. Due to their exceptional performance, they were promoted to a managerial position within a year.

Richard then joined Learning Sciences International as the Director of Sales and Business Development. In this role, they spearheaded revenue growth and provided strategic leadership to support business development goals. Richard guided the full sales cycle and implemented a solution-focused approach to sell professional development solutions to school leaders.

Next, Richard joined Operation Homefront as the Allegheny County Coordinator. Richard focused on community outreach and worked towards driving an increased volume of in-kind donations. Richard also coordinated volunteer activities and ensured sufficient staffing for events.

Richard's extensive experience brought him to EdisonLearning, where they served as the Director of Enrollment and Marketing Strategy. Richard was recruited during a challenging period to overhaul declining enrollment across multiple schools. Richard analyzed existing processes, designed targeted marketing strategies, and built multi-channel campaigns to drive enrollment, resulting in increased revenues and client satisfaction.

Richard'snext position was with Compass, where Richard held the role of a Strategic Growth Manager/Account Executive. Richard successfully led the expansion of the Pittsburgh market and was responsible for driving growth through two Inside Sales Reps. Richard focused on strategic planning for new agent acquisition, specifically targeting market leaders and movers.

Currently, Richard holds the position of Director of Sales at How's Mom, starting in 2023.

Richard Brown's education history includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Duquesne University, which they pursued from 2015 onwards. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from the same university in 2013. Richard also completed an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology at Thomas Edison State University in 2013. Currently, Richard is pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) at Liberty University, with an expected completion date in 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Richard has obtained several certifications. In September 2019, they completed the "Social Selling Benchmarks and Scorecard" and "Social Selling with LinkedIn" courses offered by LinkedIn. Richard also holds certifications as a Realtor from the National Association of REALTORS® and as a Real Estate Salesperson from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry.
