Ram Fernando has worked in various roles since 1999. Ram started as a Researcher at Resource Center for People's Development (RCPD) in 1999. In 2000, they worked as a Research and Documentation Officer at Ecumenical Comission for Displaced Families and Communities, where they conducted medical and fact-finding missions for displaced indigenous communities in Mindoro and displaced informal settlers in Quezon City. Ram also contributed to publication work as an article writer and researcher. In 2004, they were a Technical Support Engineer at Sykes Asia Inc. and in 2005, a Technical Customer Care Representative at Convergys. In 2006, they worked as a Sales Support Specialist at Ardent International Fulfillment Services, Inc. (US Mortgage Correspondent) and a Loan Processor at Mindbox Solutions / Honey Mae Home Loans. From 2008 to 2012, they were a Business Development Manager / Senior Admin Officer at E-Martel BPO Services. Finally, from 2012 to 2018, they were a Project Manager and a Project Manager / Subject Matter Expert - Mortgage Services Department and Supervisor and Subject Matter Expert - Mortgage Services Department at Cybersoft Inc.

Ram Fernando attended the University of the Philippines from 1996 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Ram then returned to the same university from 2005 to 2006 and obtained a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Environment and Natural Resources Management.
