Rick Alber has a long history of working in the tech industry. Rick began their career in 1987 as a Product Manager at Borland. In 1992, they moved to Slate Corporation, where they were a Senior Product Manager and managed the design, launch and marketing of PenApps. In 1999, they became the Director of Product Marketing at eGroup/Onelist, where they handled a variety of business development, community management, and design projects. In 2000, they joined BuildPoint.com as a Senior Director of Product Development, where they were responsible for the integration of the BuildPoint service with the online construction industry services offered by McGraw-Hill. In 2001, they worked as a Senior Product Manager at ONElist/eGroups, which was later purchased by Yahoo. In 2002, they were the Director of Product Marketing/Business Development at Local2Me. In 2004, they became the Owner of The KA Group. Finally, in 2010, they founded Gauge Scientific, which applies immunochromatographic technology for fast, low-cost chemical detection.
Rick Alber attended Stanford University, where they earned a J.D. in Law and Computer Science.
