Victor Asila is a seasoned data science professional with extensive experience in leadership roles across various prominent organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Manager at Safaricom PLC since August 2021, Victor has previously held key positions such as Head of Data Science at Absa Bank Kenya and Assistant Vice President of Data Science at Barclays Bank of Kenya, part of the Absa Group. Earlier career experiences include a Data Scientist role at Co-operative Bank of Kenya and Chief Information Officer and Data Scientist at 4G Capital. Victor also contributed as a Data Manager in a collaboration between the University of Washington and Kenyatta National Hospital. Academically, Victor holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics and Physics from Jomo Kenyatta University, obtained between 2006 and 2010.
