Sallie Lumpkin currently serves as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Virginia, where responsibilities include facilitating discussions and problem-solving sessions for over 70 students in an Ordinary Differential Equations course. Additionally, Sallie is the USTEP Co-Chair for the Society of Women Engineers at UVA, coordinating outreach events to engage middle school students in STEM education. As a Tour Guide for UVA’s School of Engineering and Applied Science, Sallie provides insights to prospective students. Previous experience includes lifeguarding at the University of Richmond Recreation and full-time head lifeguarding at Swim Metro Management Inc., along with community volunteering at the Sacred Heart Center utilizing Spanish-speaking skills. Sallie has also completed a brief internship with Spider Management Company, where research and data presentation were key tasks. Education includes ongoing studies at the University of Virginia and a recent study experience at the University of Oxford.
