Rachel Alter is a resident physician at Northshore LIJ Forest Hills since July 2023, and has been actively involved in community engagement as the Community Engagement Lead and Vaccine Advisor for March for Science since February 2019. Rachel leads initiatives to improve communications and confidence around COVID-19 and vaccines, guiding focus groups and advocating for pro-vaccine public policy. Additional roles include serving as a neurosurgery research student at Sheba - Tel Ha SHomer Hospital and peer reviewer at Sackler School of Medicine NY. Rachel's previous experience encompasses a research affiliate position at the Vaccine Confidence Project and a research assistant role at the National Center for Disaster Preparedness. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from Sackler School of Medicine and a Master of Public Health from Columbia University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience and Writing/Rhetoric from Colgate University.
