James Burton supports nonprofit, community and economic development, infrastructure, education, workforce, and healthcare clients in their federal advocacy efforts.
He monitors legislative, budgetary, and regulatory developments and provides clients with relevant policy updates and analysis. James also carries out research projects and assists in the development of client memorandums, presentations, white papers, and other legislative materials.
James’ experience includes working for the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs as a Special Assistant. In this role, he assisted with coordination and preparation of hearings along with the Staff Director and various briefings between administration representatives, NGO officials, and tribal members.
