Katie Birkey, MSN, possesses a diverse range of experiences in healthcare and community service. Currently serving as a Patient Care Technician at Rush Oak Park Hospital since May 2019, Katie previously worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at AMITA Health and held roles in both Amazon as a Sortation Associate and Cornerstone Services, INC as a Community Mental Health Worker. Significant contributions as a Community Mental Health Worker included supporting individuals with mental illness, assisting with access to community resources, and documenting progress towards treatment goals. Prior experience includes serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA, where Katie developed mentorship programs and collaborated with educational institutions. Educationally, Katie earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Rush University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Nonprofits and NGO Studies from Northern Illinois University, complemented by coursework at Joliet Junior College and College of DuPage.
