Valarie Mason has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Valarie started their career as an Internship at Point to Point in 2007, where they worked as an Art Director and Designer for two months. Valarie then joined Kent State University's Student Recreation and Wellness Center as part of the Marketing Department, focusing on design work. After that, Valarie worked as a Designer at Bark Design for a year, before joining VSA Partners in 2009. At VSA Partners, they worked as a Designer for five years before being promoted to the role of Senior Designer. In 2018, Valarie became self-employed, working as a Freelance Designer. Finally, in 2020, they joined Ruca as the Design Lead, where they currently work.

Valarie Mason pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Communication Design. Valarie attended Kent State University from 2004 to 2008.
