George Insko has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. George is currently serving as the Vice President of Cybersecurity at Rubicon since December 2021. Prior to that, they held the role of Member at Aphinia starting from August 2021.
George'smost extensive experience comes from their tenure at the University of Kentucky, where they worked for over a decade. George served as the Director of Cybersecurity from March 2018, working closely with the university's Senior Leadership in operational cybersecurity issues. George also held the position of Enterprise Security Architect, ensuring the protection of information security assets and developing architectures that promoted security throughout the enterprise. Additionally, they worked as a Leadership Consultant, using the battle of Perryville as a metaphor to teach leadership and team-building skills to IT professionals.
In terms of education, Insko has also been an Instructor at the College Business Management Institute since August 2013, teaching courses on Information Security in Higher Education and related topics.
Before their career in cybersecurity and education, Insko had entrepreneurial experience as the Co-Founder of Quando Enterprise Lcc., where they created and patented pet care products. George also worked as the Senior Business Development Manager at Kitty 'O Sheas, responsible for entertainment venues and income generation.
Insko's professional journey began in 1991 as a Platoon Commander in the United States Marine Corps. George later worked as the Chief Security Officer & Domain Administrator Consultant at CENTRAL ASSOCIATED ENGINEERS, INC., ensuring data and physical security of the company. Prior to that, they served as the Deputy Chief Security Officer at Teague International Lcc., where they were responsible for data security and training of executive personnel during travel.
Overall, George Insko has extensive experience in cybersecurity, leadership consulting, education, entrepreneurship, and security administration.
George Insko obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Natural Resources Management and Policy from the University of Kentucky, where they studied from 1991 to 1997. Later, they pursued a Masters with Honors degree in Intelligence from the American Military University, completing their education in 2011.
