David Johnson currently serves as Clinical Operating Partner at Rubicon Founders, focusing on the development of transformational companies for specialists operating under value-based payment arrangements. Additionally, David holds a position as Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at UNC Health Care, specializing in urologic oncology. Previously, David was the Medical Director for Value Transformation at Blue Cross NC, where collaboration with physicians and health systems aimed to enhance the quality and affordability of healthcare in North Carolina. David also fulfilled roles as Medical Director for Healthcare Strategy and Payment Transformation, contributing to the design of value-based payment models in specialty care. David’s clinical training includes a Urologic Oncology and Health Services Research fellowship at UCLA Health and residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Educational achievements include an MPH in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in Economics from Duke University.
