Jay Nabonne has extensive work experience in software development and engineering roles.
Starting in 1991, they worked as a Game Contractor for Information Access Technologies.
From 1992 to 1995, they were an MFC Application Programmer at MicroLogic, Inc., where they created a next-generation object-oriented document engine and contributed to the development of PrintMaster products.
In 1998, they joined Mindscape, Inc. as a Principal Programmer, leading the development of the PrintMaster and American Greetings Windows-based print productivity software products. Jay also served as a Senior Internet Developer at Headland Digital Media, where they created a web site generator and designed an Oracle database schema.
From 2000 to 2001, Nabonne worked as the Lead Engineer in the Internet Division of JP Kids, focusing on Java, Javascript, ASP, and DHTML development for a kids' web site.
Jay then worked at RightAgain from 2001 to 2003 as a Software Engineer, developing lightweight Windows "gadgets" and a mouse-gesture-based shortcut system.
Since 2003, Nabonne has held various roles at Rovi, including Principal Software Engineer, where they worked on client code for streaming video/movie applications and led the development and porting of the Sonic "red laser" SDK.
From 2013 to 2019, they worked at ffA as a Principal Software Engineer and later as a Senior Software Engineer, specializing in the development of applications and software engineering.
Starting in 2019, Nabonne joined Opencast Software as a Senior Consultant, contributing to software development and consulting projects.
Most recently, in 2021, they became a Software Development Consultant at RTI.
Jay Nabonne attended Bishop O'Dowd High School from 1979 to 1983. Following high school, Jay enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley in 1984 and completed their studies in 1985. The degree and field of study for both educational experiences are not provided.
