Frédéric Gérand

Frédéric Gérand has extensive work experience in the radio industry. Frédéric started their career at Radio Nostalgie as a Producer and Director in 1996. From 1997 to 2005, they served as the Network Head of Production at NRJ. Frédéric then worked as the Head of Production at Parenthese Radio from 2007 to 2008. In 2013, they were the Head of Production at Rire & Chansons - NRJ Group for a few months. From 2014 to 2015, they served as the Head of Production at GOOM. Frédéric was also the Company Manager at Plus Fort Le Son from 2008 to 2015. In 2015, they joined RTBF as the Head of Production at La Première, and later became the Head of Production at Musiq3 from 2017 to 2018. Frédéric is currently the Head of Audio in charge of the general strategy, complementary positioning of radio channels, podcasts, and A.O.D. at RTBF since 2018. Frédéric is also a Board Member at maRadio.be SCRL, a cooperative project aimed at developing the digital audience of radio media. Additionally, they are a Member of The New Radio Group at the European Broadcasting Union, a forum for discussing the management and future of radio as a digital industry and medium. Frédéric is also a Member of the Radio Committee at the European Broadcasting Union. Furthermore, they are a Member of the MFP Audio Group at Les Médias Francophones Publics. Overall, Frédéric Gérand has extensive experience and expertise in various roles and aspects of the radio industry.

Frédéric Gérand's education history begins in 1987 when they attended Institution Petit Val and obtained their BAC, a French high-school diploma, which is equivalent to an A level. From 1995 to 1997, they studied at Studio Ecole de France and earned a BTS degree in Mériers de la Radio, with a focus on technico-réalisateur (technical directing) in the field of study. In 2001 and 2002, Frédéric attended INAsup and pursued audio production & direction. In 2005 and 2006, they attended Chambre des Métiers, studying business creation and takeover. In 2015, they took courses at RTBF Academy in impactful communication and proximity management. Finally, in 2016, they also attended RTBF Academy, focusing on change management.
