Melissa Barca is a software engineer who currently works for RStudio. Melissa has previous experience working as a software developer for Corelation, Inc., where they were responsible for designing and developing financial software, as well as leading the backend development team in the design and implementation of new features. Melissa has also worked as a front end website manager for East Coast Filter and as a data visualization research assistant for Wheaton College Massachusetts.

Melissa Barca graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Wheaton College Massachusetts. Melissa then spent a year as an exchange student studying Computer Science at the University of Wollongong. After returning to the States, Melissa completed certification programs in Multiplatform Mobile App Development with React Native, Front-End Web Development with React, and Front-End Web UI Frameworks and Tools: Bootstrap 4 through Coursera.

Their manager is Ferit Albukrek, VP, Engineering. They are on a team with Jill Solovey - Director of Engineering, Hannah Frick - Software Engineer, and Shelby Bearrows - Software Engineer.
