Janet Higgins

Janet Higgins is a data manager at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew since March 2023. Prior to this role, Janet served as a computational biologist at the Earlham Institute from June 2016 to June 2022 and at The Genome Analysis Centre from February 2012 to June 2016, focusing on the analysis of next generation sequencing data such as RNA-Seq, BS-Seq, and ChiP-Seq in plant and animal genomes. Janet held a postdoctoral researcher position and was a Daphne Jackson Fellow at the John Innes Centre from September 2004 to February 2012. Earlier experience includes working as a research assistant in NASC at the University of Nottingham from January 2000 to August 2004. Academic qualifications include a university certificate in Biological Recording and Species Identification from The University of Manchester and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences from the University of Bradford.
