Charley Sullivan serves as the Vice President of Rowing at Row New York since July 2021, leading initiatives that integrate rowing with academic and social support for historically excluded youth. Co-founder of Equality Sports Alliance since October 2012, Charley has played a key role in advancing LGBTQ+ acceptance in athletics. An expert speaker on LGBTQ issues and a long-time advocate for gay rights, gender and racial equality, Charley's career includes notable coaching positions at esteemed institutions such as the University of Kansas and the University of Michigan, where achievements include multiple national championships and recognition as USRowing Collegiate Coach of the Year. Charley holds a PhD in History from the University of Michigan and has conducted research as a Fulbright Scholar.
