John Bromley has a long and varied career in the energy sector. John began their career in 2014 as a Director at GreenPower International Ltd, where they oversaw the development of renewable energy projects ranging from small scale hydroelectric and community-scale onshore wind, to utility scale generation. In 2011, they joined Triodos Bank as CIO of Renewable Energy & Climate and Fund Manager of the Ampere Equity Fund, leading a European team of asset managers with a portfolio of fifteen European clean energy equity infrastructure investments. In 2011, they also became a Director at CARRAIG GHEAL WIND FARM LIMITED. In 2015, they joined Legal & General as Managing Director of Clean Energy Strategy and Investments, where they were responsible for financing the decarbonisation of the energy system to deliver affordable and reliable power, heat and transport for consumers. John also served on the Group Environment Committee and the Climate Financial Risk Sub Committee. In 2016, they became a Non Executive Director at Oxford PV and a Board Observer at Tokamak Energy Ltd. In 2017, they were a Board Observer at Upside Energy. In 2019, they became a Non Executive Director at Pod Point Ltd. and in 2020, they became a Non Executive Director at Kensa Group. In 2022, they joined Rovco as a Non Executive Director.
John Bromley's education history includes a Climate related financial risk course from the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford in 2019, a Private Equity Program from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford in 2018, an Oxford Chicago Booth Valuation Programme from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford in 2014, an MBA in Strategic Management & International Business from the Nottingham Business School at Nottingham Trent University from 2001 to 2003, and a BSc (Hons) 2:1 in Physical Geography from the University of Nottingham from 1995 to 1998.
