Shannon Gianola has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Shannon began their career in the marketing and media industry, working as a Marketing Director, Strategic Outreach, and Media Relations at K103fm, Q105fm and 1190 KEX Radio - Clear Channel Radio from 1989 to 1998. Shannon then transitioned into project management and event planning, establishing their own company named Shannon Gianola Full Service Events, where they served as the Owner/Principal from 2001 to 2009. During this time, they also worked as the Brand Manager for TriMet's Airport MAX Light Rail Extension project in 2001. From 2001 to 2010, Shannon co-founded the Wednesday’s Child Foundation, Inc. (WCF), a non-profit dedicated to providing opportunities and orthodontia care to children in the foster care system. Shannon generated nearly $1M in charitable contributions for WCF. Shannon then took on various roles in the healthcare sector. From 2010 to 2013, they worked as the Partnerships, Sponsorships & Special Events - Associate Marketing Manager at Providence Health & Services. In 2014, they became the Executive Director of Candlelighters For Children With Cancer, where they led organizational growth and managed daily operations. Shannon joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 2016 as the Director of Development until 2019. Currently, Shannon holds the position of Director of Philanthropy at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon and Southwest Washington, a role they have been in since 2019. Additionally, they have been a Member of the Board of Directors at The Dougy Center, National Center for Grieving Children & Families since 2016.
Shannon Gianola attended the University of Oregon, focusing on Communications and Advertising. They also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit and Public Management from Portland State University.
