Sean Yang is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in firmware development and multimedia applications. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Roku since May 2015, Sean has contributed to the firmware for various products, including players, TVs, and wireless speakers, and possesses expertise in webRTC, AirPlay, and streaming services like Spotify, YouTube, and Netflix. Prior to Roku, Sean held the position of Technical Yahoo at Yahoo! from July 2008 to May 2015, where responsibilities included building advanced prototypes for multi-stream decoding/encoding and developing a portable multi-process platform for various operating systems. Sean's earlier career includes roles at Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. focusing on video decoder firmware and middleware development, and as a Software Engineer at Portal Software, Inc., creating developer tools and web solutions. Sean holds a BS in Computer Science from Santa Clara University.
