Hassan Xafar has a strong background in finance, administration, and project management within various humanitarian organizations. Hassan currently serves as the Head of Support Services at the Norwegian Red Cross, where they started in September 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Finance & Administration Delegate at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) from April 2022 to September 2022. Hassan also held positions at the Norwegian Red Cross as the Asia Regional Finance Development Officer from January 2018 to April 2022 and as the Asia Regional Finance Officer from September 2015 to December 2017. Hassan has experience in project management as a Project Team Assistant at the World Health Organization from December 2014 to June 2015. Hassan Xafar has a diverse educational background. In 2008-2009, they attended the National University of Modern Languages, where they obtained an MBA in Human Resource Management. In 2017, they completed a summer course in Accounting and Finance at the University of Geneva. Alongside their formal education, Hassan has obtained several certifications to enhance their skillset. In 2018, they received the National Disaster Response Team (NDRT) in Logistics certification from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies - IFRC. In 2017, they completed certifications such as "Building Financial Sustainability" and "Keeping your Donors happy" from Mango (Management Accounting for NGOs). Hassan also holds the "Basic Security in the Field" certification from UNDSS, which they obtained in 2014. In 2013, they completed the "Practical Financial Management for NGOs" certification from Mango. Additionally, Hassan has obtained certifications in "Social Mobilization Orientation" from the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in 2011 and "Fleet Management & 4x4 Off-Road Driving Training" from IFRC in 2011.
