Derick Jiwan serves as the Innovation & Business Development Manager at WinField United since April 2022. Concurrently, Derick is involved with Rockstart as a Strategy Business Developer and serves as a Venture Fellow at Propellant Ventures, both positions starting in August and October 2021, respectively. Derick has also been a mentor at Wageningen University & Research since February 2019, contributing to successful projects like ReThink Protein and the Greenhouse Urban Challenge. As a Business Mentor at the Founder Institute since January 2020, Derick has guided cohorts in go-to-market strategies. Previous experience includes playing multiple senior roles at Hazel Technologies, Inc. from April 2018 to April 2022 and co-founding Phytelligence Inc. from February 2012 to May 2020, focusing on developing protocols and research infrastructure. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Molecular Plant Sciences from Washington State University and a Master's in Microbiology from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
