Lance Metzler has extensive experience in local government management, currently serving as County Manager for Rockingham County since December 2011. Prior positions include County Manager for Montgomery County, North Carolina from April 2005 to December 2011, and County Administrator for Northampton County, Virginia from January 2000 to April 2005. Metzler also served as Town Manager for the Town of West Point from April 1997 to January 2000 and for the Town of Kingstree from September 1994 to April 1997. Education includes a Master of Public Administration from Appalachian State University and a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from East Carolina University.
