Stephen Knightly

Stephen Knightly has a diverse work experience that spans various industries. Stephen is currently working at RocketWerkz as the Chief Operating Officer since October 2019. Prior to this, they worked at InGame as the Managing Director since June 2010. At InGame, they were responsible for designing games for marketing, training, education, and social change, as well as providing consulting, game design, project management, and evaluation services.

Stephen has also been a Steering Group Member at WeCreate since August 2017. Before that, they worked as the Director at Pursuit Public Relations from September 2007 to October 2019. In this role, they focused on marketing and public relations strategy and campaigns for innovative and technology-focused companies, with specialties in export marketing, IT, healthcare, biotech, gaming, virtual worlds, and education.

Additionally, Stephen has served as the Chairperson of the New Zealand Game Developers Association from an unknown start date to August 2016. In this position, they led the industry association during a period of rapid growth and implemented various initiatives such as the NZ Game Developers Conference, Kiwi Game Starter startup competition, GDC Scholarships, Auckland Game Developer Meetups, and an annual industry survey.

Before their work in marketing and public relations, Stephen held positions at Text 100 as a Senior Account Director from October 2006 to October 2007, Baldwin Boyle Group as a Senior Consultant from February 2006 to October 2006, the University of Waikato as the Director of Marketing from June 2003 to March 2006, Red Consultancy as an Account Manager from October 2001 to February 2003, and Consultus as a Senior Account Manager from July 1998 to August 2001.

Stephen Knightly received their Master of Management Studies degree with a specialization in Marketing and Communications from The University of Waikato in the period spanning from 1998 to 1999.
