Álvaro García has a diverse work experience. Álvaro started their career as an English teacher at IESO Tomás Bretón in 2010 and also worked as a Spanish teacher at King's College International in 2012. Álvaro then worked as a freelance tutor of English and Spanish from 2007 to 2012. In 2012, they became a legal interpreter at Ofilingua S.L., providing interpretation services and translating official documents for the Spanish National Police Force.
In 2013, Álvaro joined the University of Puerto Rico as a PREI Intern at Sargasso, a journal of literature, language, and culture. Álvaro also worked as a translator at the Translation and Research Center, managing translation projects and proofreading documents. Álvaro became the Reviews Editor at Versejunkies from 2013 to 2014.
In 2016, Álvaro worked as a library assistant at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, and conducted research on "Resistencias y transgresiones en la escritura universitaria: Miradas transdisciplinarias". Álvaro later became a researcher, analyzing data and publishing findings in academic journals while presenting research at conferences and events.
Álvaro's most recent role is with Granicus LAC, where they started in 2017 as a technical writer, creating and editing technical documentation for software products and systems. Álvaro now serves as a product owner, responsible for the development and management of company products.
Álvaro García's education history is as follows:
From 2019 to 2024, Álvaro García pursued a PhD in Social Sciences (Translation and Intercultural Mediation) at the Universidad de Salamanca.
Between 2013 and 2017, Álvaro García obtained a Master's degree in Translation from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras.
In 2010 and 2011, Álvaro García studied for a Master's degree in Teacher for Secondary Education, Baccaulaureate, Vocational Training, and Languages at the Universidad de Salamanca.
From 2006 to 2010, Álvaro García completed a Licenciature in English Philology at the Universidad de Salamanca.
In addition to their formal education, Álvaro García obtained a certification in "Investigaciones psicológicas, sociales o educativas con seres humanos" from the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY, in February 2021.
