David Word has extensive experience in the recreation and sports management field, currently serving as the Executive Recreation Director for Rochester Avon Recreation Authority since June 2013, overseeing the operation of recreational services for over 128,000 residents. David has previously owned Fresh Coast Sports Management, where event and league operations were managed, and served as State Director for Michigan USSSA Softball. Additional roles include Recreation Programs Coordinator for the City of South Jordan and several positions in event coordination and technical support during education. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Services from Central Michigan University and a Master’s degree in Commerce and Economic Development from Northeastern University.
