Serena Bisagni is an accomplished Senior Scientist in Biocatalysis at Roche since October 2021, bringing valuable expertise in enzyme discovery, screening, and engineering acquired during previous roles as Senior Biochemist at Johnson Matthey from February 2015 to August 2021 and as a Biocatalysis Researcher during the PhD program at Lund University from August 2010 to November 2014. The doctoral research focused on cloning, expression, and characterization of Baeyer-Villiger monooxygenases for pharmaceutical applications, complemented by guest positions at the University of York and TU Delft, investigating the three-dimensional structure and catalytic scope of these enzymes. Prior internships at the University of Pavia fostered practical experience in protein characterization, underpinning a solid educational foundation in biotechnology with a PhD from Lund University, a Master’s degree from Università di Pavia, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology.
