Yuan Ma has held various software engineering positions since 2014. In 2017, they were a Vehicle Sensing and Vision Senior Software Engineer at Huawei Technologies, where they designed and implemented a head pose estimation module. From 2019 to 2020, they were a Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at Essential, where they designed and implemented an Android camera application and integrated real-time image processing and machine learning features. From 2014 to 2017, they were a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan - Rackham Graduate School, where they were the project leader for building a cross-platform demo application.

Yuan Ma received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2014. Prior to that, they attended Suzhou High School of Jiangsu Province from 2007 to 2010. In 2017, they completed a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Michigan - Rackham Graduate School.
