Sebastian Kaltwang has had a varied and impressive career in software engineering and machine learning. Sebastian began their journey in 2007 as a Research Assistant at Fraunhofer IOSB. Sebastian then became an Exchange Student at Imperial College London in 2008. In 2010, they returned to Fraunhofer IOSB as a Research Assistant. In 2011, they began their PhD in Machine Learning at Imperial College London and also became a Visiting Scholar at Oregon State University in 2012. In 2013, they worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Google. In 2015, they were a Research Associate at Imperial College London. In 2016, they moved to FiveAI where they were a Research Scientist and Software Engineer, Machine Learning. In 2020, they joined Robust.AI as a Principal Software Engineer, Staff Software Engineer, and Senior Research Scientist.

Sebastian Kaltwang obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from Imperial College London between 2011 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Diplom in Informatik from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) between 2004 and 2011.
