Steven Hosking, LPC has a diverse background in the field of therapy and education. Steven currently works as Movement & Expressive Arts Faculty at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, where they utilize their expertise to guide individuals in their personal and collective wellbeing.
Prior to their current role, Steven was a Social Emotional Learning Coach & Arts Educator at Robin, where they created and facilitated in-person and virtual SEL programming for schools, districts, teachers, and families. Steven incorporated evidence-based and expressive arts-based methods to foster a compassionate and meaningful understanding of personal and collective wellbeing.
Steven's experience also includes working as a Field Therapist / Expressive Arts Therapist at Pacific Quest, where they provided therapeutic support to individuals utilizing expressive arts techniques. Steven also worked as an SPED Paraprofessional/Assistant Educator in the Developmental Learning Program at Regional School District 17, where they provided individual academic and behavioral instruction to K-3 students and applied ABA and Expressive Arts methods as therapeutic interventions.
In addition, Steven has held counseling roles at Holistic Psychotherapy, where they provided counseling services, and at Grove School, where they engaged with clients through individual, group, and family sessions utilizing both traditional psychotherapy and Expressive Arts Therapy techniques.
Steven has also gained experience as an Expressive Arts Therapy Intern at Community Therapeutic Day Schl, where they co-facilitated academic, clinical, and expressive arts interventions and led therapeutic groups. Steven also worked as a Kripalu Yoga Teacher and JourneyDanceâ„¢ Teacher at XO Yoga, utilizing their skills to guide individuals in their yoga and movement practices.
Steven's career started as an actor in Magic Tree House: The Musical, showcasing their talent and passion for the performing arts.
Throughout their career, Steven has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting the emotional and educational needs of individuals through various therapeutic approaches and arts-based methods.
Steven Hosking, LPC has a Bachelor's degree in Musical Theatre & Creative Writing from Syracuse University - College of Visual and Performing Arts. Steven further pursued their education by obtaining a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Expressive Art Therapies with a specialization in Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University. Additionally, they received their Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher qualification from Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, where they completed Yoga Teacher Training/Yoga Therapy.
