Julia Kourelakos is a multi-talented individual currently serving as a Research Assistant at Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment, focusing on independent climate modeling research and machine learning methods for estimating global greenhouse gas emissions. Julia is a Robertson Scholar, part of a prestigious leadership development program at Duke University, and has gained practical software engineering experience through internships at Microsoft and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Additional experience includes a film division internship at Appalshop, Inc., where Julia contributed to grant writing and educational resources, and instructing coding and game design to middle school students at Suncoast Science Center. Julia holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Creative Writing from Duke University.
