Mathieu van Roon

Portfolio Manager – Sustainable Multi Asset Solutions at Robeco

Mathieu van Roon has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Mathieu started their career in 2006 as a Student-Assistant in Educational Marketing at Erasmus University Rotterdam. In 2007, they became a Student Recruiter at YER. In 2008, they worked as a Junior Business Analyst at Deloitte. In 2009, they interned as a Thesis Intern in Equity Investments at ING Investment Management.

In 2010, Mathieu worked as a Consultant at Veneficus - Quantitative Consulting & Research. In 2011, they joined Robeco as a Structurer, responsible for developing structured products across asset classes. Mathieu later became a Portfolio Manager in the Insurance & Pension Solutions team and was responsible for managing fixed income solutions and incorporating insurance and pension specific constraints into investment portfolios.

Mathieu also held the position of Treasurer at Rot.Jong, a networking platform for young professionals, from 2015 to 2017. In 2021, they took on the role of Portfolio Manager in the Sustainable Multi Asset Solutions team at Robeco. Mathieu is currently responsible for the day-to-day management, research, and product development of the Multi Asset funds and mandates.

Throughout their career, Mathieu has gained expertise in portfolio management, trading, risk management, and quantitative research.

Mathieu van Roon completed their secondary school education at CSG Blaise Pascal from 1997 to 2003. Mathieu then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Economics & Business Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam, graduating in 2008. Following this, from 2007 to 2012, they obtained another Master of Science (MSc) degree in Quantitative Finance from the same institution. In 2010 and 2011, Mathieu enrolled in the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) and received a Financial Risk Management (FRM) certification.
