Irina van der Sluijs has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Irina started their career at World Press Photo as a Project Manager, where they organized training workshops for photojournalists. Irina then worked at the Ministry of Economic Affairs as a Policy Advisor, focusing on corporate social responsibility policies and promoting the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. Irina then joined the OECD as a Consultant, where they conducted research and organized dialogues on responsible business conduct in China. Irina later worked at Berenschot as an Associate Consultant, specializing in sustainable procurement and conducting research on living minimum wage in Bangladesh. Irina also established their own consultancy firm, where they provided strategic advice and conducted research projects for clients such as ASN Bank. In the field of sustainable investing, they held positions at NN Investment Partners as a Senior Sustainable Investment Specialist and Team Lead Thematic Engagement, and at Goldman Sachs as a Vice President Sustainable Investing. Currently, Irina is working at Robeco as a Senior Engagement Specialist, focusing on engagement and active ownership in areas such as the SDGs and fashion. Irina is also a Yoga Teacher at Delight Yoga, guiding classes in yin yoga and astanga yoga. Throughout their career, Irina has been actively involved in promoting responsible business conduct and human rights, and has also spoken at various conferences and panels on these topics.
Irina van der Sluijs has a diverse education history. Irina began their educational journey at Université Savoie Mont Blanc, where they obtained an undergraduate degree in Sustainable Tourism Management between 1995 and 1996. Irina then pursued their Bachelor's degree in International Tourism Management and Consultancy at Breda University of Applied Sciences, from 1993 to 1997.
Irina furthered their education by attaining a Master's degree in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam, which they completed between 1997 and 2000. Following this, they enrolled at The London School of Economics and Political Science for a Course Certificate in Development in the International Political Economy in 2005.
More recently, Irina attended the University of Cambridge in 2021, where they participated in and successfully completed the Prince of Wales's Business and Sustainable Leadership Programme offered by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership (CISL).
