Kamal Chavda

Lead Data Engineer at Roadie

Kamal Chavda has over 17 years of professional experience in the field of data engineering and analysis. Kamal began their career in 2003 as an Inventory Accounting Associate/Analyst at The Home Depot. Kamal then moved to PRGX in 2004, where they served as a SQL Server BI Developer/Analyst and Data Analyst. In 2010, they joined AssuranceAmerica as a Data Warehouse Analyst and SQL Server BI Developer. Here, they designed, developed, and deployed reports in MS SQL Server environment using SSRS-2005/2008 R2, and developed dashboards for senior management and company-wide consumption. In 2012, they moved to MCIC Vermont, Inc. as a SQL Server BI Developer, where they developed SSIS ETL packages for migration of data from acquisitions and updated and maintained ETL packages and T-SQL code for nightly load from production to ODS and Data Warehouse. In 2013, they joined Moxie as a Database Developer, where they led the Hortonworks HDP 2.0 development efforts, managed all ETL processes associated with the eCRM process for their client, Verizon Wireless, and worked with the Architect on infrastructure projects and strategic initiatives. In 2016, they moved to Kabbage, Inc. as Manager, Data Platform and Data Platform Engineer, where they migrated processes from legacy SSIS solutions to Apache Airflow and Databricks by implementing batch and streaming pipelines, supported the development and implementation of data lake on AWS infrastructure, and led the developer on two bank partner projects to onboard partner data to data warehouse. In 2020, they joined ImagineX Consulting as a Senior Data Engineer, and then moved to Finastra as a Lead Data Engineer. Kamal is currently employed at Roadie as a Lead Data Engineer.

Kamal Chavda completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Kennesaw State University.
