Dr Senthil Rajendran

Head, Middle East Business Unit at RMSI

Dr. Senthil Rajendran has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Dr Senthil started their career at Reliance Developers (I) Pvt. Ltd. as a Project Engineer from June 1996 to May 1997. Dr Senthil then worked as an Engineer at JK Builders and Contractors from June 1997 to July 1998. In 2000, they joined Genesys International as a Project Executive for seven months before moving on to the Institute of Remote Sensing, Anna University. At the Institute, they worked as a Junior Research Fellow from July 2000 to January 2001, and later as a Teaching Research Associate from February 2001 to November 2006.

In 2006, Dr. Rajendran joined RMSI as a Technical Specialist (GIS) and served in that role until June 2008. Dr Senthil then joined RMSI Ireland Pvt. Ltd. as a Project Coordinator from July 2008 to September 2009. Dr Senthil returned to RMSI as a Manager (GIS Consulting) in October 2009 and worked in that position until their latest role as Head of Middle East Business Unit, which they assumed in December 2021.

Additionally, Dr. Rajendran has also served in senior positions at the General Commission for Survey, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where they worked as a Management Consultant starting from April 2014. Dr Senthil also worked as a Senior Consultant for a European Commission Funded Project from December 2012 onwards.

Dr Senthil Rajendran has a strong educational background in Civil Engineering and Urban Planning. Dr Senthil completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in Civil Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University in 1996. Dr Senthil then pursued a Master of Engineering (M.E) in Urban and Transportation Engineering from Anna University from 1998 to 2000. Later, they completed their Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Land Use Modelling using Remote Sensing and GIS from Anna University between 2001 and 2006. Furthermore, Dr Rajendran obtained a PDF (Post-doctoral fellowship) in Urban Environmental Planning from Universidad de Sevilla from 2010 to 2011.
