Chris Horton, Ph.D., CGFM, CIA, CRMA, currently serves as Senior Manager at RMA Associates, LLC, where leadership encompasses performance audits, consulting engagements, and financial audits for federal clients, along with a focus on project management and business development. Previously, Chris owned and operated Peak Auditing and Consulting, providing audit training and contract services in the public sector. As County Auditor for Arlington County, Chris developed the governance framework for the County Auditor function, facilitating performance audits to enhance local services. Additional experience includes roles as President of the Association of Local Government Auditors, Audit Manager for Fairfax County Public Schools, and Internal Audit Supervisor for the City and County of Denver. Educational achievements include a JD from The Catholic University of America, a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Arizona State University, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in History and Political Science from The University of Texas Permian Basin.
