Peter Tang currently serves as a Principal Member of Technical Staff at Rivos Inc. since September 2022. Previously, Peter held the position of Research Scientist at Facebook from December 2019 to September 2022 and worked as a Senior Principal Engineer at Intel Corporation for two stretches: from July 2011 to November 2019 and from February 1999 to August 2008. Earlier in the career, Peter was a Research Scientist at D E Shaw Research, LLC, contributing to the design of the Anton 2 molecular dynamics supercomputer from September 2008 to July 2011, and served as a Computer System Engineer at both Berkeley Lab and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from 1996 to 1999. Peter Tang earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, between 1980 and 1987.
