Winsten Marks began their career in 2008 as a Server at Southern Season. Winsten then moved on to Guglhupf Bakery, Cafe & Restaurant in 2014, where they worked as a Server and exercised strong communication skills and collaborated with the team to ensure proper work flow. In 2016, they joined Rivers Agency as a Development Intern, where they learned and applied essential web technologies and development tools such as Git, HTML, CSS, Jquery, Bootstrap while collaborating with the web development team to create responsive websites. In 2017, they were promoted to Front End Developer at Rivers Agency, where they developed responsive websites from wireframes whilst working with designers and had experience with all aspects of WordPress from creating themes, plugin development, custom tooling and frameworks, and integrating third party services.

Winsten Marks obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between 2015 and 2017. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate's Degree in University Transfer from Durham Technical Community College between 2011 and 2014. Additionally, they have obtained two certifications from Coursera in 2019 - 'Functions, Methods, and Interfaces in Go' and 'Getting Started with Go'.
