Shawn Amison has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Shawn is currently working as a Level 3 Support Desk Engineer at River Run since July 2022. Previously, they worked at GE Healthcare as a Senior Systems Administration Engineer from August 2019 to August 2022, where they focused on developing Edge Computing platforms for digital imaging in the healthcare sector. Prior to that, they served as an IT Hardware Technician at Johnson Controls from April 2014 to August 2019, managing data centers and collocations worldwide. Shawn also worked at Applied Tech as a Senior IT Project Infrastructure Specialist, handling project planning and implementation for small to medium-sized businesses from March 2013 to March 2014. Before that, they gained experience as an IT Support Specialist at Envision Information Technologies, Operations Technician at CDW, and Counter Intelligence Agent at Best Buy Stores, Inc. Shawn started their career as an Information Technology Administrator at Woodland Title Services in 2001, followed by an internship as a Desktop and Server Support Intern at Kohler Company in 2005. Shawn also served as the Assistant Technology Coordinator and Network Administrator at Oostburg School District from September 2002 to June 2006.
Shawn Amison completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Networking/Security Technology from Herzing University, from 2006 to 2010. In addition, they obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2018, they earned the SRF BTEC Level 5 Data Center Design Professional certification from Pearson. In 2016, they obtained the Certified Data Center Technician Professional (CDCTP) certification from CNet Training. In 2015, they earned the Certified Data Center Energy (CDCE) certification from CNet Training and the ITIL Foundation for IT Service Management certification from EXIN your ICT competence partner. In 2013, they obtained the Citrix XenDesktop Administrator certification, and in 2012, they achieved the Citrix XenServer Administrator certification. Lastly, in 2018, they earned the Certified Data Center Design Professional (CDCDP) certification from CNet Training.
