Paulo Marcelo Gondim Sales currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Downstate Health Sciences University and as a Clinical Psychiatrist at River Region Psychiatry Associates LLC. From August 2021 to October 2023, Paulo held the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior experiences include a Clinical Fellowship at Brown University, where Paulo focused on Consultation-Liaison work, and significant roles as both Chief Resident and Psychiatry Resident at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Paulo's medical career began with a Medical Doctor degree from the Federal University of Ceara, complemented by a Master's in Science in Morphofunctional Sciences. Additional international training took place through a medical internship at Universitätsklinikum Aachen in Germany and an observership at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
